GPS Time synchronisation

This half-day course is aimed at designers and technicians who specify and work with GPS clocks.

The course covers:

some basic theory so the differences between IRIG-B AM, IRIG-B DCLS, NTP, SNTP, PTP etc and the role of IEEE extensions are understood
a hands-on set up of IRIG-B, NTP and PTP using Microchip’s Tekron clocks to sample IED’s
aystem design issues, including lightning protection and the role of isolated timing repeaters
